Hirdaya

Hirdaya

Hirdaya has been extensively involved in teaching and practicing the transforming art of meditation, philosophy and chanting for thirty years. She spent fifteen years studying in the Himalayas, at the International Meditation Institute (IMI), and many years living and teaching at various IMI meditation centers in Montreal, Ottawa and Vancouver, performing chants and Hindi songs in Canada and the U.S. with two chanting bands.

Throughout Hirdaya’s spiritual practice, chanting has been absolutely central, and to sing with her powerful and celestial voice is to take a flight into the skies of bliss and deep peace that unfold when we tap into the subtle inner vibrations of oneness of our pure and free Being.

Hirdaya is also an accomplished songwriter, and has produced several CDs of her original songs in English — poems that describe states of heart, mind, and perception arising from love for the infinite. She has also produced a beautiful chanting CD, Invoking the Highest, and is currently recording another one.

Hirdaya has created The Here and Now Meditation Centre where she offers regular workshops; she also conducts retreats several times a year and travels wherever she is invited to teach and sing. Nothing delights her more than to share and celebrate the joy and peace of the freedom that we are!
